The Supreme Committee of Education Continuation Project held Thursday a meeting presided over by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb with participation of Minister of Education Tariq al-Okbori, the Vice President of the Committee.

The project, which is financed by International Partnering Association, aims at supporting ministry of education with USD 11 million for ensuring continuation of education and inclusive education during eruption of corona pandemic and reopening schools across Yemen within precautionary measures for protecting children against the pandemic.

Batheeb pointed out that the project supports urgent educational needs under corona pandemic and contributes in establishing more flexible educational system, noting that the pandemic imposed new type of educational scheme based on using modern technology and remote education.

He confirmed that the ministry is working quickly on mobilizing new resources for educational sector from donors, especially World Bank.

For his part, Minister of Education al-Okbori pointed out to significance of the project in these difficult conditions in this stage Yemen is going through and eruption of coronavirus and that the ministry will commence implementation the project through specialized technical teams.
