Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb discussed Thursday with Economic Cooperation and Development and European Union Commission in Yemen Boosting Economic Steadfastness Project financed by EU with wide participation of government bodies.
Batheeb made it clear in the meeting, which was held through visual communication, that the government is working swiftly with its partners to face economic and humanitarian challenges and regaining economic revival.
He confirmed significance of supporting Yemen for implementing inclusive economic program focusing on rebuilding damaged infrastructure over the war and reshuffling economy on new foundations, taking into consideration developing promising sectors, technology sector and knowledge sector.
He also confirmed boosting economic steadfastness of government institutions and private sector thorough improving their institutional capabilities and their administrative systems and financial infrastructure, as wells improving dignity system, combating corruption and boosting transparency and accountability.
For her part, the Vice President of the European Union Commission in Yemen Maryon Alisi said that the EU is committed to support the government of Yemen and Yemeni people for reaching an inclusive peace and facing humanitarian crisis and supporting economy and reconstruction.
