Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basoheib, discussed with the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen the humanitarian situation, the conditions of the IDPs camps, development needs, and the strengthening of various aspects of cooperation and coordination between the two sides.

The meeting comes after the Coordinator's visit to a number of areas in the governorates of Taiz and Hodeidah, including Mocha where he held a series of meetings with local authorities and agencies concerned with service and humanitarian aspects, during which he was briefed on humanitarian and development needs.

The meeting touched on the importance of the joint assessment between the Yemeni government and the United Nations to produce results and information about the needs required in various fields and sectors of life to be submitted to the government’s partners, donors and international organizations working in Yemen in order to implement their various interventions and projects and harness them to contribute to alleviating human suffering as a result of the war.
