Taiz Governor directs local gov't to study resuming public power service

The Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, has directed the speedy completion of technical studies and practical steps to restart the public power service in the governorate.

Deputy Taiz Governor for Technical Affairs, Eng. Moheeb Al-Hakimi, made this intent clear during his visit to the Electricity Corporation branch office to see the extent of the damage the electricity system suffered as a result of the Houthi war and to identify the needs to restore and rehabilitate the corporation's building.

He pointed to government directives to provide 50 megawatts for the governorate, with 30 megawatts to be allocated for the provincial capital city of Taiz and 20 megawatts for the outlying city of Al-Turbah.
