The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman have affirmed in a joint statement their support for the latest Saudi initiative to resolve the crisis between the Yemeni government and the Houthi militia.
The statement, at the conclusion of the session of talks between the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Sultan of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, affirmed the congruence of their views on continuing their efforts to find a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis based on the Gulf initiative, the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference and UN Security Council Resolution no. 2216, as well as the latest Saudi peace initiative to end the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
