RIYADH - SABA
Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh, met on Wednesday, with the German Deputy Ambassador to Yemen, Jan Gerald, to discuss developments on the national arena and bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
The Vice President praised the German support for humanitarian aid efforts, and international peace brokerage efforts for Yemen.
The Vice President emphasized the interest of the Yemeni leadership's interest in achieving peace and positive interaction with all international efforts towards this goal. The Vice President made clear however that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia have met all peace efforts with more military escalation, terrorism and intensification of crimes and violations against the Yemeni civilians.
He noted that the militia keep launching ballistic missiles and drones at civilian places in Yemen and Saudi Arabia and keep targeting international navigation with booby-trapped boats.
The Vice President referred to the efforts made by Saudi Arabia to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, stressing the government's keenness to get the deal implemented and rejection of any obstacles that prevent unifying efforts to restore the state.
