Yemen: Saudi mine action program extracts 2008 Houthi-laid landmines within days

The Saudi program clearing landmines in Yemen (MASM) announced on Monday that it had extracted 2008 Houthi militants-laid landmines from June 26 to July 2, 2021.
The program said it removed the mines from residential areas, schools and public roads in different Yemeni governorates.
They included 63 anti-personnel and 793 anti-tank.
The Houthi militia have planted hundreds of thousands of landmines in the country since they triggered the latest Yemeni conflict in September 2014. Thousands of people most of them civilians have been killed or injured and many landmines are still posing danger.
