ADEN - SABA
Yemen's political parties have renewed their call for implementing the military and security provisions of the Riyadh Agreement between the government and the Southern Transitional Council and condemned the assassination of a member of the Islah party in Aden on Wednesday.
The parties said in a statement issued in the name of the National Alliance of Yemeni Political Actors, an umbrella that binds together all the parties, that implementing the military and security provisions is "the only guarantee that the government can assume it constitutional responsibilities."
The security and military provisions provide for the merge of all paramilitary factions into the regular forces that answer to the national unity government.
The parties renewed their firm rejection of all acts of violence and rejection of the existence of any militias or movements outside the authority of the legitimate government.
The parties said the Riyadh Agreement's saboteurs are accountable for the violence and lawlessness that plagues the temporary capital Aden.
The parties called the assassination of Islah activist Bilal Almaysari "a despicable crime and a shame on humanity."
