Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik has highly appreciated the significant humanitarian role of the International Committee for the Red Cross and its continuous support to Yemeni people in humanitarian and health domains.
In his meeting with the Head of ICRC Peter Maurer through video conferencing on Wednesday, Prime Minister confirmed significance of humanitarian work in the government's programs and plans and joint efforts of Yemen's partners and international organizations.
He touched upon the humanitarian situation in Marib on the light of Houthi militia's continuous attacks against civilians and displaced people and increasingly terrorist crimes despite international calls to stop targeting civilians.
The meeting discussed ICRC's projects for 2021 and existing coordination with the government for facilitating the committee's activities.
For his part, the Head of ICRC expressed thanks to the government for facilitating the organization's activities, pointing out to continuous help to Yemeni people to overcome their ordeal.
