Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik affirmed the government's keenness to develop with its international partners a new model in the financing mechanisms for vital sectors projects, especially energy and transportation.
In a meeting he held via video conference with the Executive Director and Dean of the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank Group Merza Hasan, the Prime Minister stressed that development, providing services and creating job opportunities are essential elements in reaching peace in Yemen.
He reviewed the economic situation and the challenges facing the government in light of the scarcity resources and pressure to provide services as the Houthi militia's war drags on in the country.
Abdulmalik praised the long-standing partnership between Yemen and the World Bank, which has resulted in strengthening institution-building and infrastructure, pointing out the importance of providing a facilitation platform for trade in foodstuffs and trade in oil derivatives, which will contribute to the stability of the currency and the humanitarian aspect.
