Vice President of the Republic (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsen Saleh along with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak met today with the UN Secretary General's Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths to discuss international efforts to make peace.

The Vice President detailed Mr. Griffitths on the military escalation of Iran-backed putschist Houthi militia amid the assiduous efforts and increasing calls for establishing peace. He cited the Houthis' ballistic missiles and drones attacks on Marib governorate which has been heavily populated with the IDPs and the civil facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mohsen stated that the Iranian-Houthi group's decision is dictated by Iran, it doesn't care about the Yemenis' agonies, the militia's recent attacks on Marib and elsewhere reflects its rejection of all peace calls, a matter requires a firm reaction by the international community to the Houthi arrogance and intransigence.

The Vice President indicated that the insurgent Houthi group has badly taken the advantage of Stockholm Agreement, blocked implementation and capitalized on to mobilize its aggression on Marib and other fronts, besides it has increased weapons smuggling operations.

For his part Mr. Griffiths talked about the ongoing efforts to realize peace and the humanitarian situation, underlining the need for moving forward to achieve peace.
