Planning minister, EU delegation head discuss Yemen economic resilience project

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badheeb, discussed with the head of the EU delegation and the head of the Middle East and Africa Department at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development the economic resilience project funded by the European Union at an amount of $11 million, which will be implemented through the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

In the meeting, which was held via visual communication technology, Badheeb praised the role of the European Union in supporting and assisting Yemen and in financing development and humanitarian projects, food security, livelihoods and peacebuilding.

He praised the role of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which has great experience in building institutional capacities and strengthening governance.

He referred to the great challenges facing Yemen, especially after the coup of the Houthi militia against the government in 2014 and the outcomes of the national dialogue in terms of the humanitarian crisis, economic deterioration and the repercussions of the conflict on the security and institutional levels.
