IFJ condemns STC's takeover media outlets in Aden

The International Federation for Journalists (IFJ) denounced the seizure of the state-run-media institutions in the temporary capital Aden by gunmen affiliate to the South Transitional Council (STC) including the premises of Yemeni News Agency (Saba) and the two official daily newspapers Al-Thawrah and 14 October.

The IFJ issued a statement in which it called for respect for information and keep the media outlets and journalists out of political and military conflicts and disputes.

The statement read" According to the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS) apparently it seems that the STC intended to take control over the official media institutions and operate for its own, there are more than 150 journalists work for (Saba) among of them 70 journalists are subjected to lose their jobs unless they yield to the STC's political agenda".
