NCIAVHR inspects human rights situations in Shabwa

Members of the National Committee to Investigate Alleged Violations to Human Rights (NCIAVHR) met Sunday with Deputy Governor of Shabwa Abdulqawi Lamrooq, Deputy Director of Shabwa Police General Ali Hasshal, Head of Appeal Prosecution Judge Saleh al-Madhaji and Head of Primary Court Yasser al-Barasly.

Lamrooq showed readiness of local authority and security forces to cooperate with the committee for easing its tasks of protecting human rights and realizing justice to all.

For his part, the Deputy Head of the committee Hussein al-Mashdali confirm keenness of the committee to reach victims in all provinces, pointing out that the visit aims at inspecting human rights situations in Shabwa and hearing from prisoners and held people in prisons.

The members of the committee then visited the Criminal Investigation Office and discussed with the office director General Abdullah al-Ayyashi situations of the held people and measures for limiting human rights violations and implementing the law.

The team visited transitional-held rooms and listened to a number of held people there on the treatment they get.
