RIYADH-SABA
Yemen’s Information Minister said the death of Hezbollah fighter Mustafa Algharawi alongside the Houthi militants in a Marib frontline on Monday reflects the big magnitude of Iran’s involvement in the Yemeni war.
Muammar al-Eryni Algharawi was killed in an airstrike by the Arab Coalition as part of the aerial support to the Yemeni government against the Iran-backed theocratic militants who seized the capital Sana’a in September 2014.
He said that Iran’s deployment of hundreds of IRGC officers and Hezbollah militants, leading of the Houthi military offensives in the battlefield, smuggling of arms including ballistic missiles and drones, and harnessing of media machinery for pro-Houthi propaganda are but some of the signs of the Iranian involvement and expansionist agendas in the region.
Al-Eryni has called on the international community and the UN to take tough measures to stop the Iranian blatant military escalation and spoiling of peace opportunities in Yemen.
