Parliament Speaker participates in IPU's meetings

Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani has participated in the 142nd Meeting of the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union supposedly held in the period between 24 and 28 of this May.

In the speech he delivered in the first session of the meetings, al-Barakani expressed appreciation to the IPU for dealing responsibly with Yemen's issue and support to the internationally-recognized government and its stance against violations committed by Houthi terrorist militia against a number of Yemeni parliamentarians.

He pointed out to Houthi militia's crimes against all Yemeni people and issuing death verdicts against 46 parliamentarians.

He touched upon humanitarian situations in Yemen over Houthi militia's triggered war, the militia rejection to respond to all international peace initiatives and suffering of Yemeni people over corona pandemic.
