Energy Supreme Council to tackle electricity problems in Aden

The Supreme Energy Council has approved a number of decisions and measures to tackle electricity problems in the transitional capital of Aden including finding solutions to solve shortage of generating power to alleviate suffering of the people in summer.

In the meeting held through visual communications and presided over by Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik the Head of the Council on Thursday, the meeting discussed challenges facing trial operation of President Power Plant in Aden.

The council approved a number of measures to overcome obstacles, providing necessary fuel and authorizing specialized committees from concerned bodies to implement the decisions and measures.

Attended by Governor of Aden Ahmad Lamlas, the meeting discussed a report by minister of electricity and energy on the currents situation of electricity generation in power stations in Aden, maintenance and reasons of deterioration of generating power.

The meeting also discussed the first batch of fuel donation by Saudi Arabia and time table to other phases of donations, as well as methods of distributing the donation to power stations.

The meeting also discussed a proposal from the ministry of power and energy on hiring swimming power plant generating by gas oil, offers made a number of companies and economic benefits.

Prime minister stressed that the current situation requires quick solutions to power problems and alleviating suffering of people away of personalizing mistakes.
