The Representative of the Republic of Yemen to the UN Ambassador Abdullah Assa'di conferred with the Acting-Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitri Polanski over the political developments and humanitarian situations in Yemen.
The virtual discussions touched upon the UN-led peace efforts and the Iran-backed Houthi militia's military escalations that further worsening the already very difficult humanitarian situation.
Ass'ad stated that the Yemeni government has been very keen to achieve peace, it welcomed all proposals and diplomatic good offices aiming to put an end of the war and establish peace.
He held Houthi militia responsible for blocking peace efforts, refusing all proposals and keeping on military escalations.
Assa'di also blamed Iranian continuous military and logistic support for Houthi militia for prolonging the war, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis, destabilizing security in Yemen and the region.
The Russian diplomat reconfirmed his country's support for Yemen and the efforts of the UN's envoy to Yemen to reach peaceful settlement.
