Al-Alimi: Marib battle fateful for the Yemeni people

Director of the Republic Presidency Office Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi described the ongoing fighting in Marib governorate where the government troops along with tribesmen backed Saudi Arab Coalition have been battling Iran-backed Houthi militiamen for months as " a deciding and existential battle for the Yemeni people".

He stated that the Yemeni peoples have no choice but to gain victory, the government will save no efforts to provide the national military with every necessary support fight this battle.

He said" Marib battle is a confrontation between the republican regime that the Yemeni peoples are struggling for and the Iran-backed Imamate religious theocracy which is the Houthi driving doctrine".

His remarks came during a press conference held through video conference organized by Sana'a Center for Studies in which he answered questions by reporters from different parts of the world.

Dr. Al-Alimi stated that the Yemeni government has been open to all peace initiatives and calls in order to re-establish peace and end the war triggered by Houthi militia, to this end it has offered many concessions but Houthis have rejected all, continued to insist on politicizing the humanitarian issue.
