The Charge D'Affairs of Yemen's Embassy here Abdulsalam al-Awadhi praised positive efforts of the Government of Kenya for supporting Yemen in the Security Council.

Al-Awadhi informed the Director of UN Affairs at Kenyan Foreign Ministry Salim Mohammad Salim on Friday on latest developments in Yemen and Houthi aggression on Marib and targeting civilians and camps of displaced people by different types of weapons, including drones.

He demanded the international community to exert pressure on Houthi militia to stop shelling Marib, which hosts two million displaced people, confirming that the government of Yemen has been seeking peace and supports all efforts of UN envoy to Yemen, pointing out that Houthi militia hinders and rejects all peace efforts and initiatives.

For his part, the Kenyan official confirmed deep -rooted relations between the two countries, pointing out what is happing in Yemen- with its strategic location- is reflected on the Horn of Africa.

He also pointed out that his country is against all terrorist groups, renewing his country's support to legitimacy in Yemen and support to all peace efforts through its membership in the Security Council.
