Vice President meets with German Ambassador to Yemen

The Vice President of the Republic (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsen Saleh met here today, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Yemen Carola Muller-Holtkemper.

Mohsen praised robust bilateral ties between the two countries, highly appreciating Germany's significant contribution to fund the UN Humanitarian Response Plan in Yemen 2021 and its efforts to re-establish peace.

The Vice President restated that the legitimate government will continue to deal constructively with peace calls and efforts, the most recent one is the Saudi proposal to end the Yemeni crisis.

He said that the legitimate leadership is very keen to achieve the permanent peace based on the three terms of reference include the GCC's Initiative, its operational mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue and the UNSCR 2216.

The Vice President blamed the putschist Houthi militia for blocking peace efforts, carrying out the Iranian spoiler agenda in the region. To support his argument he cited the militia's continuous attacks on the governorate of Marib which heavily populated with the IDPs and firing ballistic missiles and drones toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The German diplomat reiterated her country's support for German diplomat reiterated her country's support for Yemen's security, stability and the efforts aiming to put an end of the Yemenis' suffering.
