Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mansour Bajjash discussed Monday with Swedish Special Envoy to Yemen Peter Semneby latest developments and peace process in Yemen.
The meeting touched upon continuous Houthi militia's military escalation in Marib, which hosts more than million displaced people.
Bajjash pointed out to complicated humanitarian situation in the province, especially among displaced people, urging international partners and humanitarian organizations working in Yemen to exert more efforts and provide more support to alleviate suffering of displaced people.
He made it clear that the continuation of military escalation by Houthi terrorist militia under UN and international efforts for ending the war reflects the militia's rejection to peace and lack of its decision, which it receives from Iran.
He called upon international community to practice utmost pressure on the militia to respond to peace calls and stop its military escalation and sectarian violations against Yemeni people.
He confirmed government's keenness on realizing peace and regaining order through positive dealing with the UN and international efforts for reaching to inclusive and sustainable political settlement, praising Sweden's role on political and humanitarian level.
For his part, the Swedish Envoy confirmed his country's continuous efforts in cooperation with international community for ending war and realizing peace in Yemen and providing humanitarian assistance for alleviating suffering of Yemeni people.
