Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik held talks today with the Deputy Minister of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.
The discussions covered a range of significant topics including the latest developments relating to the situations in the Yemeni national arena, the implementation of Riyadh Agreement and the Saudi support for the Yemeni government to fulfill its obligations.
The two sides underlined the importance of prioritizing the economic and developmental support for the Yemeni government in the short and medium terms.
They also stressed that it is very important to go on implementing the Riyadh Agreement in full, building up on the progress realized, managing any disputes through dialogue, refusing any escalation aiming to destabilize the government-held regions.
The two sides also asserted that the Kingdom's proposition to end the war and establish peace in Yemen is a significant path to put an end of the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
The Prime Minister detailed the Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense on the latest developments relating to the political, military, security and basic services situations. He also cited the government's efforts to manage the challenges and the needed support to enable it doing its job.
Dr. Maeen highly appreciated the Saudi fuels grant which announced recently to support the electricity sector in the government-controlled governorates.
The Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense confirmed the Kingdom's full support for the Yemeni government in order to do its duties; rejecting any escalation may block the government's action, the state's institutions or spoil the implementation of Riyadh Agreement.
He stated that the Kingdom's call for the two parties to Riyadh Agreement to come to Riyadh, sit down together to handle disputes through dialogue is the only single track to achieve the Yemeni peoples' aspirations for stability.
