Iran-backed Houthi militiamen committed 14 thousand violations against the civilians in the governorate of Marib over the past six years.

According to report issued by the Human Rights Office in Marib the Houthi militia's militants committed 14 thousand and 680 violations from August 2014 through December 2020, categorized into 12 grave abuses against the civilians, public and private-owned properties in the governorate.

The violations include 615 premeditatedly killing outside the law against civilians among them 146 killed by Houthi militia-laid landmines in the governorate, 469 civilians killed by missiles and projectiles fired by the militiamen on the residential areas. Whereas 1512 civilians were sustained critical injuries, 393 persons were injured by landmines and 1119 by the missiles and different projectiles fired by the militiamen.

The report which was made public today at press conference held in the city of Marib cited 391 arbitrary arrests, 109 enforced disappearances, 43 cases of torture in the militia's detention centers and 8912 families were displaced from several districts in Marib governorate.

For the via lotions against the properties 39 public real estates and property were totally ruined, 109 public properties were partially damaged. The militiamen also committed 2322 violations against private-owned properties out of which 596 were completely damaged and 1726 partially affected.

The Houthi militiamen distinguished themselves with demolishing public and private-owned building suing explosive devices. They bombed 26 of public and private owned buildings in Marib including a mosque in Serwah district and a school in Majazr district, 24 houses of the civilians were bombed in the districts of Majazer and Serwah.

Meanwhile 69 cases of attacks on health and medical facilities, 16 cases of blocking delivery of humanitarian aids and 7 cases of attacks against historical sites and antiquities were reported.

The Human Rights Office report stated that the Camps of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) came frequently under Houthi militia's artillery shelling. As a result 27 IDP camps were closed during January 2020 through March 2021, over 2671 families of those camps were re-displaced.
