Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Bin Mubarak meets with US Envoy to Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak met today here with American Envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderkinng.

They discussed the developments about the ongoing efforts aiming to stop the warfare and establish peace in Yemen.

The conversations focussed on the Saudi proposal to end the Yemeni crisis, international good offices to stop the war and bring about peace that is based on the three terms of reference including the GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of National Dialogue and the UNSCR 2216.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs reinstated that the Yemeni government is very keen on ending the war. He stated that constructive response to the Saudi initiative and supporting it is a significant step toward achieving durable peace in Yemen.

The US envoy applauded the Yemeni government's reaction to the calls for establishing cease-fire, initiating peace process and making humanitarian situation a top priority.

He stated that the US is seeking to push the peace process in Yemen within the course of the UN-led efforts and the US administration is committed to Yemen's security, stability and unity.

The US Ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzel was in attendance.
