Yemen gov’t strongly condemns assassination attempt on Civil Service minister

The Yemeni government has strongly condemned the terrorist assassination attempt on one of its members, the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, in Aden on Thursday.

D.r. Abdulnaser al-Wali survived an assassination by a roadside bomb when he was in his way to work.

In a statement, the government said the attack was “part of the relentless attempts by some parties to sabotage the state of harmony and any completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement” between the government and the Southern Transitional Council.

“All the criminal attempts to attack the government’s members will not prevent it from pressing ahead with its business mission to serve the public in these delicate times,” said the statement.

The statement said that the Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik has ordered immediate directions to the competent authorities to conduct urgent investigations into the assassination attempts and crack down on the perpetrators.

It said the government will save no effort or any precious thing to consolidate stability in the city, assuring the public that the minister survived unhurt.
