The Yemeni Government has held Iran-backed Houthi militia fully accountable for further exacerbating the Yemeni peoples' suffering and deteriorating the humanitarian situation.

The Foreign Ministry issued a statement included Houthi militia's policies and actions that increasingly worsening the humanitarian situations. It said "Responding to the UN and international calls to stop the war, the Houthi militia has embarked on military escalations, launched wide-scale military operations on Marib, Taiz and Hodiedah".

The statement went on saying" The militiamen deliberately create fuels shortages to promote black market's businesses the control over to increase their personal gains, looting as many as 50 billion Yemeni Rials (YR) the fuels taxes imposed on oil imports through Hodiedah seaport were intended to pay the government's employees' salaries".

The Ministry stated that the UN Team of Experts' report about the situation in Yemen issued in January 2021 indicated that Houthi militia took over one billion and 800 million USD from the nation's revenues in the militia- controlled regions. This large amount was supposed to be used to pay the public civil service employees' salaries.
