RIYADH - SABA
Yemen’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Awadh Bin Mubarak and the UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths discussed in a meeting here today the Houthi ongoing escalation in Marib province.
Bin Mubarak told Griffiths that the Iran-affiliate militia are not interested in peace and their military attacks and shelling of civilians and IDPs in the otherwise peaceful governorate is a proof that the militia are beholden to the Iranian regime.
Bin Mubarak called on the UN to exert influence over the militia to stop their senseless wars.
He said the government on its part is committed to keep engaging in the efforts toward reaching a sustainable comprehensive peace.
The UN envoy expressed his concern over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions, affirming that negotiation is the way to reach a solution and end the war.
