Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Awadh bin Mubarak met here today, Thursday, with the Special Envoy of the United States of America to Yemen Timothy Lenderking.
Bin Mubarak welcomed Mr. Lenderking, affirming the Yemeni government's desire to work with him to achieve peace in Yemen.
Bin Mubark appreciated the new American administration' interest in Yemen and President Biden's vows to support the diplomatic efforts to achieve peace and end the war.
He stated that while the Yemeni government has reacted constructively to President Biden's call and reiterated its commitment to political solution and the peace process, the terrorist Houthi militia responded by firing ballistic missiles on the innocent civilians in Marib governorate.
Bin Mubarak called on the US and International Community (IC) to mount pressure upon the Houthi militia to stop its aggression. He reiterated the Yemeni government's commitment to work seriously for realizing comprehensive and sustainable peace based on the three terms of reference and the UNSCRs in relevance, namely 2216.
For his part the US Envoy praised the Yemeni government's commitment to peace process, reiterating his country's supportive stance in support of Yemen's unity, stability and security.
