The European Union (EU) expressed concerns about the recent military escalation by the insurgent Houthi militia in the two governorates of Marib and Aljawf and the attempted recurrent attacks on the borders with the territories of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A statement issued by the EU's official spokesperson said the renew military actions and attacks at this moment in particular dangerously undermine the ongoing efforts by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the overall efforts by the international community to end the war in Yemen.
