Interior Minister meets Vice-Chair of UN Redeployment Committee in Hodeidah
[07/02/2021 05:56]

ADEN - SABA
The Minister of Interior, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Haydan and the Vice-Chair of the United Nations Redeployment and Coordination Committee in Hodeidah, Daniela Crosslak, discussed in a meeting in the interim capital Aden today the latest developments in the mission’s efforts to implement the Hodeidah agreement.

In the meeting, the Minister appreciated the UN efforts to implement the agreement in Hodeidah, stressing the importance of commitment to implement the outcome of the Stockholm Agreement and put an end to the violations of the Houthi militia.

Minister Haidan indicated that the Iranian-backed Houthi coup militia continues to target unarmed civilians in the city center of Hodeidah, Al-Durayhimi and other neighboring districts, in blatant defiance of what was agreed upon in the Stockholm consultations, in disregard to all international and regional efforts and reached agreements.

He added that the government forces committed themselves to a ceasefire and not to commit any violations of the agreement in light of total silence by the United Nations officials overseeing the agreement’s implementation.
