ADEN - SABA
The UN experts have agreed to revisit a report they released last week accusing the central bank in Aden of misuse of a Saudi financial deposit.
In a virtual meeting with the experts on Yemen, officials from the central bank presented its responses to the accusations regarding alleged corruption in the disbursement of the deposit and expressed its reservations around the “unfair accusations and wrong statements the experts panel based their report on.”
The bank’s team emphasized the importance of partnership in information exchange and verification and in joint revision of the panel’s draft report before its presentation to the UN Security Council.
The two sides agreed on the principles of partnership and neutrality of the methodology used to assess the legality of the bank’s procedures.
