The Republic of Yemen is participating in the regional workshop for alleviating non-direct effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) on reproductive health and health of maternity, newborn, teenagers and adults.

Commenced its work on Tuesday, the workshop is organized by the Regional Office of the World Health Organization in Cairo via visual communications.

The Yemeni Technical Committee, which includes 10 scientific and academic personalities from the ministry of public health and population, is participating in the workshop which also includes experts from WHO, UNICEF, John Snow organization and Pakistan and Sudan.

With participation of Deputy Minister for Primary Healthcare Sector Ali al-Walidi, the first day of the workshop discussed evaluating Yemen's efforts in combating COVID-19 and services provided to Yemen.

Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population for Population Sector Ishraq al-Siba'i presented work paper on means of interventions and strategic plan applied by Yemen for ensuring provision of health services.

The workshop included discussions of other reports, Professor Huda Basalim, the Advisor of WHO, presented Yemen's comments on Pakistan's report.
