Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Mua'mer al-Iryani sought for the UNISCOW's support for the Yemeni government to retrieve the Yemeni artifacts which have been looted and smuggled abroad.
As he conducted virtual discussions on Tuesday with the Director of the UNISCOW's Regional Office for the Gulf countries and Yemen Anna Paolini, al-Iryani explored the UNISCOW's cooperation with the Ministry of Culture about preserving the Yemeni cultural heritage.
The Minister detailed the UNISCOW's official on the serious damages the Yemeni antiquities have suffered amid the ongoing war triggered by Iran-backed Houthi militia.
The conversations also touched upon the UNISCOW's programs, projects and interventions in Yemen.
