RIYADH - SABA
The Saudi mine action program 'MASAM' removed 1,352 Houthi-laid landmines in different parts of Yemen during the fourth week of December so far.
In a statement, MASAM said the landmines included 134 anti-personnel landmines and 1,178 UXOs.
The Houthi militia have planted more than a million landmines in Yemen over the past six years alone. Planted ubiquitously in public places, the landmines have claimed hundreds of civilian lives, injured more and lie in wait as a dormant danger for civilians in the future.
