Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan launched Sunday the project of cleaning and covering watercourses in the city.
The project, which costs USD 150 thousands, is financed by the European Union and CARE International organization.
During the launching ceremony, Shamsan was acquainted by the project coordinator with the project's components, which covers Usaifirah waterway and a number of other uncovered waterways in the city. The length of the waterways is 5 KM.
Director of Cleaning and Improving Fund Abdullah Jassar made it clear that up to 3000 tons of trashes were removed from Wadi al-Qadhi's waterway, which was full of rubbish were the main reason of spreading dengue fever in the city.
