The imminent stipulation on entrants to Yemen to undergo a PCR test or show a coronavirus-free certificate is a precautionary measure Yemen is taking amidst an anticipated second wave of the global pandemic, a Yemeni official has said.

The spokeswoman of the national Supreme Emergency Committee on Coronavirus, Ishraq Asuba'ee told Saba on Tuesday the diagnostic test "must be no less recent than 72 hours before the travel to Yemen."

She said thatm "This stipulated measure will enter into effect in all Yemen's land and air ports of entry as of Friday, the 25th December.

The measure will be applicable to all those entering Yemen, whether Yemeni citizens, foreign residents, or visitors. The measure will apply to all employees of the United Nations and other international organizations coming to Yemen.

Children aged 10 or less will be exempt from the tests, she said. Negative coronavirus tests issued from recognized medical centers in the last destination will be accepted.
