[14/12/2020 06:36]
SHABWA-SABA
The engineering teams of Yemen Executive Mine Action Center (YEMAC) in partnership with Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance MASAM destroyed Monday jet-bombs in Shabwa.

The bombs were dropped by British colony before Yemeni Revolution 14 of October 1963 against the colony.

Some jet-bombs have been destroyed at Shuqair area at Ain District, Shabwa province, said Director of YEMAC General Amin al-Aqili, adding that the bombs were posing serious danger against people for dozens of years as they have not exploded since they were droppe by Britain's jets on Shuqair Mountain.

He added that it is difficult to get rid of the bombs due to their heavy weight ranging from 350 to 500 pound.

Destroying the jets today is the first phase and the rest bombs will be destroyed in future better security conditions, he said, confirming that there are many war wastes should be destroyed.

He pointed out that leaving these bombs poses serious threat against citizens as they could explode if they crash into a solid body, calling inhabitants to be away of war wastes and not to touch them.
