ADEN - SABA
The Government of Japan announced Tuesday providing Yemen with USD 3.5 million as new donation allocated to fishing sector in Aden and Hadhramout.
The donation will be provided through UNDP.
The Project aims at re-building livelihoods and capacity building of fishing families affected by conflicts via providing fishing equipment, training on repairing the equipment, capacity building of fishery trading and making projects to help Yemeni people survive in front of conflicts.
Japan government exchanged memos with UNDP on December 2 in New York for launching the project of re-building livelihoods and capacity building of fishing families affected by conflicts in Aden and Hadhramout.
This contribution with 3.5 million USD is an additional assistance to 41.2 million USD, which the Government of Japan pledged in the High-level Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen held on 2 June 2020 virtually.
Japan will continue its effort to mitigate Yemeni people’s suffering in this difficult situation.
