Minister of Public Health and Population participated Thursday in the supposed meeting held through video conference with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and World Health Organization and UNICEF.

Participated by 187 countries, the meeting discussed access of these countries to covax vaccine and readiness of these countries to receive it.

The meeting discussed providing 20% percent of the vaccination by the alliance by the end of the first quarter of 2021 to be allocated to more vulnerable people to COVID-19; health workers and the aged, and readiness of these countries of implementing a number of measures required for dealing with the vaccine like keeping it under -70 centigrade and providing series of extra-ordinary cooling in addition to qualifying and training cadre on dealing with the new vaccine.

These topics will be discussed with the cabinet and the Supreme National Committee for Combating COVID-19 for approving the project, said Baom.

He made it clear that Yemen is still suffering a number of infectious diseases, calling upon the participating countries to support governmental efforts for eradicating epidemics and diseases.
