Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami held discussions on Thursday with the UN Security Council five permanent members (the P5) Ambassadors to the Republic of Yemen.

The session devoted to discuss the latest developments about the UN-led peace efforts, the implementation of Riyadh Agreement, Houthi militia's persistence to block the efforts aiming to resolve Safer oil tanker problem and the militia's continuance combat operation on Marib governorate.

The Foreign Minister stated that the government is very interested in realizing sustainable peace that is based on the references, ensures eliminating the coup, reinstates official authority and prevents new rounds of conflicts.

Al-Hadrami condemned the Houthi militia's continuation attacks on Marib governorate. He stated that the militia's military escalations on Marib demonstrates the militia's rejection to come to peace.

He also called on the International Community to mount pressures on the Houthi militia to stop blocking the urgently needed efforts to handle Safer oil tanker problem to avert a looming environmental disaster.

The Foreign Minister stressed on the importance of the fully implementation of the mechanism designed to speed up the implementation of Riyadh Agreement. He cited the steps taken by the government in this regard.

He underscored the importance of putting Riyadh Agreement in place in full, forming the government and enabling it to operate in the temporary capital Aden to serve all Yemenis and maintain the nation's stability, security and the territorial integrity of Yemen.

Al-Hadrami also highlighted the importance of renormalizing the situation in Socotra, ending the armed insurgence there and reinstate the official authority in the archipelagos.

" Socotra has always been an amicable, peaceful and stable governorate, a unique Yemeni jewelry out of all conflicts ", said al-Hadrami.

The P5 Ambassadors voiced their support for the UN envoy's efforts including resuming discussions on the proposal of the" Joint declaration".

They stated that they are looking forward to see the implementation of Riyadh Agreement and the formation of the new government as soon as possible since that will have positive impact upon overall political process in Yemen and the economic situation.
