The designated Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik met on Wednesday with the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Yemen Christopher Henzel.
Yemeni-American bilateral ties and strategic partnership to counter the Iranian interventions in Yemen and the region, extremism and terrorism was key focus of the discussions.
They also conferred over the developments in the Yemeni national scene, mainly the underway final steps to implement Riyadh Agreement and to establish the new government.
The UN-led peace process and efforts were also touched upon. Dr. Ma'een stated that the government is very keen on dealing constructively with the UN and International efforts to make peace.
The Prime Minister praised the US stance in support of the legitimate government and the Yemeni people
The US Ambassador reiterated his country's support for the UN envoy's efforts to establish peace in Yemen. He urged the Yemeni parties to engage in the UN-led peace process constructively.
Mr. Henzel expressed his confidence that the new government will play significant role in improving the economic and humanitarian situations and the International Community will support its efforts.
