Ambassador of Republic of Yemen to Ottawa, Canada, Jamal Assallal held virtual discussions with Under-Secretary of Canadian Foreign Minister for Middle East and Europe Sandra McCardell and the Head of General Directorate for Arabian Peninsula and Gulf countries Gregory Mayer.

Aspects of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two friendly countries was key focus of the conversations.

Assallal briefed the two Canadian officials on the latest developments in Yemen including UN-led peace process, prisoner exchange deal, Iranian interventions in Yemen and Safer oil tanker dilemma.

The two Canadian officials affirmed their country's support for the Yemeni government and the UN envoy's efforts to make peace, re-establish security and stability in Yemen.
