Prime Minister Dr. Maeen AbdulMalik affirmed that starting the path of reconstruction according to sound planning is one of the most important paths for peace and ending the war in Yemen.

He explained that Yemen has potential natural and human resources and opportunities that contribute to achieving the development path and providing citizens with decent living opportunities.

He made the remarks while addressing the participants in a workshop carried out on Monday by the Ministry of Public Works and Roads, in coordination with the United Nations Human Settlements Program "Habitat", on the challenges of urban development in Yemen, as part of the celebration of the Arab and International Day of Housing (Shelter), in the presence of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hussein Baslama.

Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik said that the Yemeni government signed agreements with the United Nations Settlements Program in 2019, inaugurating a new phase of partnership that strengthens the capabilities of local and central institutions in the urban planning process, and contributes to developing the national strategy in the field of recovery and reconstruction, and to benefiting from the great experiences the program has in the areas of urban surveying.
