KUWAIT - SABA
The State of Kuwait announced Thursday a contribution to humanitarian actions in Yemen with $20 million from the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, warning of the serious impacts of Houthi militia's military escalation on Marib governorate.
Speaking at a ministerial meeting held virtually today, Thursday, on the sideline of the 75th session of the UN's General Assembly the Kuwaiti Acting- Foreign Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Ahmed Al-Sobah said" Marib governorate played the role of the safe haven for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) from other parts of Yemen during this crisis, any further escalation in this governorate will produce grave consequences politically, militarily and humanitarian that undermine prospects of the comprehensive political solution".
Al-Sobah stated that the best solution to end the deteriorated humanitarian situations requires re-establishing security and stability in Yemen that maintain the country's sovereignty, independence and unity, that only can be realized through a political solution based on the three terms of reference including the UNSCR 2216, the GCC's Initiative, its operational mechanism and outcomes of National Dialogue".
