Yemen, Japan discuss coordinating positions in international forums

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad al-Hadhrami discussed Monday with Charge D'Affairs of Japanese Embassy in Yemen Yuji Hatury coordinating positions towards common-concerned issues in international forums.
Al-Hadhrami expressed Yemen's appreciation to Japan's humanitarian and relief support to alleviate suffering of Yemeni people in this difficult period, praising Japan's positions towards Yemen and its support to peace process efforts.
He touched upon Safir Oil Tanker issue, pointing out that the explosion or leaking oil from the tanker will lead to environmental catastrophe could cause dangerous economic and humanitarian repercussions not on Yemen alone but also on the region and the world.
He added that Houthi continuous rejection of allowing to UN team for examining the tanker and draining it from crude oil requires strong international condemnation.
For his part, the Japanese diplomat confirmed his country's firm position towards Yemen and the internationally-recognized government and support to efforts for realizing peace in Yemen.
