RIYADH - SABA
Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, renewed Saudi Arabia's support for a political solution in Yemen based on the three basic references represented by the Gulf Initiative, its implementation mechanisms, the outcomes of the Yemenu National Dialogue, and the UN Security Council Resolution, especially resolution no. 2216.
In an address at a virtual Arab League session today, he said that the Kingdom is making every effort to preserve the sovereignty of Yemen and achieve security and stability in it.
He appealed to the international community to pay more attention to stopping the practices of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, and their repeated attacks by missiles and drones that target populated civilian areas, airports, facilities and civilian installations in the Kingdom.
Farhan stressed that the Iranian regime threatens the Arab region by supporting armed militias, stressing that the militias are wreaking havoc and chaos in many Arab countries.
He said, "The most serious threats facing our Arab region are the continuing violations of international laws, charters and norms by the Iranian regime, threatening the security and stability of our countries."
He renewed the call to the international community to assume its responsibilities regarding the threat posed by these (hostile) practices to international peace and security. "
