Deputy Prime Minister Salim al-Khanbashi has directed launching measures for operating Qana Port in Shabwah.
In a meeting with Shabwa Governor Mohammad bin Adyou, leaders of local authority in the province and concerned officials on Monday, the convening officials discussed a number of technical and financial issues associated with operating the port, as well as measures required for finalizing the studies and constructing basic components.
Al-Khanbashi renewed the strategic significance of the port, pointing out to its role in reviving the economic, commercial and developmental activities in the province.
For his part, governor of Shabwas praised government's response to cooperate with the local authority for operating the port.
The Head of Arab Ports Corporation Salim ba-Musaimir and Head of the General Authority for Marine Affairs Yaslam bin Amr reviewed the initial studies of the location of the port, which has natural specifications more than any other port.
