Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Caretaker Government discusses latest developments

RIYADH - SABA
Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik presided over a meeting to Caretaker Government on Tuesday for discussing a number of issues, latest developments and government's responsibilities until forming the new government.

The caretaker government confirmed commitment and support to finalize articles of Riyadh Agreement in accordance with timely plans for making the agreement successful, praising Saudi faithful role for sponsoring process until reaching to the agreement and for continuous support to Yemeni people in different conditions and stages.

The government expressed confidence that the agreement will establish new phase of normalizing conditions in liberated areas and unifying national efforts for facing Iranian-Houthi agenda in Yemen and for regaining the state.

Prime Minister informed the ministers on different developments took place recently and duties the government's members should carry out during this critical condition until forming new government.

He confirmed that the caretaker government will continue its responsibilities until forming the new government and until its return to the transitional capital Aden and taking constitutional oath before the president.

He pointed to urgent priorities, overcoming floods affects and damages and coordination with donors and relief and humanitarian organizations, as well as military situations in different warfronts with Houthi rebel militia.

The government reviewed reports on damages left by floods and relief efforts and discussed recommendations and suggestions for dealing with these damages.

The government reconfirmed giving utmost priority to relief efforts and providing shelters and aid to displaced people and affected people, whose houses collapsed. The government praised efforts of King Salman Relief Center for helping floods-affected people.

The government discussed report made by Criminal Investigation Office on exiting explosive materials in Aden Port. The report confirmed no existence to any Ammonium Nitrates or any other dangerous materials and there is only urea fertilizer used for agricultural purposes.

Deputy Prime Minister, the Head of the Supreme Emergency Committee, Salim al-Khanbashi provided a report on the general situation and developments of corona pandemic and efforts for boosting health situation and precautionary measures.
