PM meets Arab League's Secretary General

Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik met the Secretary-General of the Arab League at the league's headquarters in Cairo today and discussed the latest developments in Yemen including in political, humanitarian, and other areas.

The meeting reviewed the positions and the important role of the Arab League in rejecting Iranian interference in the region, and activating the league's role in various files related to Arab issues, especially in countries experiencing conflicts, in addition to the security of the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea.

The Prime Minister praised the positions of the Secretary-General of the Arab League in supporting the legitimate Yemeni government led by His Excellency President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Abdulmalik stressed Yemen's support for activating the role of the Arab League in hot issues of the Arab states, especially the conflict-ravaged ones including Yemen.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Arab League stressed the imperative of supporting Yemen in this difficult stage and strengthening the Yemeni government’s capabilities in facing dangerous situations, especially in the health and humanitarian fields.

Aboul Gheit stressed the importance of preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity, of Yemen, noting that the political agreement remains the only way out for the Yemeni crisis, and the guarantor of the country's independence in the face of regional interferences.
